About The Nativity of Christ (Coptic Christmas)
The commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. The Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates it on 29 Koiak (28 Koiak in the year after a Coptic leap year), which falls on January 7, and it is preceded by the 43-day Nativity Fast. There is no fasting on the feast even when it falls on a Wednesday or a Friday.
