About The Nativity Fast (Advent)
It always begins on November 25 and ends on January 6, the eve of the Nativity: 43 days, forty of them recalling the fast of Moses before he received the Law, and three added in memory of the fast before the moving of the Mokattam Mountain in the days of Pope Abraham ibn Zaraa. It includes the month of Koiak with its praises.
