About Pentecost
On the fiftieth day after the Resurrection the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples in the upper room as tongues of fire (Acts 2); it is the birthday of the Church. Pentecost ends the Holy Fifty Days, and the Apostles' Fast begins the next day.
